The Art of Restraint in Luxury Interiors

Why the most expensive-feeling rooms are often the emptiest — and how editing, not adding, creates true luxury.
Luxury is often misunderstood as abundance — more marble, more gold, more everything. In practice, the rooms that feel the most expensive are the ones where every element has earned its place.
Restraint is not minimalism for its own sake. It's a discipline of editing: choosing fewer, better things and giving them room to breathe. A single sculptural chair against a lime-plaster wall says more than a gallery of objects.
When we design, we ask of every element: does this make the room feel calmer, or busier? If it's the latter, it goes. What remains is what matters.
