The Overview
A collector's penthouse on the 28th floor. The brief was theatrical — a home built for entertaining at golden hour, with the city skyline as the permanent artwork.
Client requirements
- A statement bar and lounge
- Gallery walls for a growing art collection
- Layered, cinematic lighting
- Materials that read rich at night
The challenge
Floor-to-ceiling glass meant glare by day and a black mirror by night. A scheme of sheer-and-blackout drapery plus warm 2700K lighting tamed both extremes.
Design concept
Dark, jewel-box luxury: fluted walnut, antique brass, deep-green marble and velvet, all tuned to glow rather than shine.
