The Overview
A family of four wanted a home that felt like an exhale — generous, tactile and free of visual noise. We reorganised the ground floor around a single travertine spine that draws light from a central courtyard deep into the plan.
Client requirements
- A calm, monochrome material story
- Seamless indoor–outdoor living
- Concealed storage throughout
- A library that doubles as a quiet workspace
The challenge
The original layout boxed the living areas away from the garden. Removing two structural walls let us open a 9-metre sightline from the entrance to the pool deck without compromising the slab.
Design concept
Warm minimalism: honed travertine, oak and lime plaster, lit so the materials — not the objects — become the décor. Furniture sits low and quiet so the architecture leads.
